Our Mission
Who Can Benefit From
LETS
EDMONTON?
How to Participate |
|
WHAT
IS the LETS EDMONTON Trade
Community?
LETS (Local Economic Trade System) - LETS Edmonton is a
new and exciting community project that enables us to take control of our
financial present and future by creating a local bartering service to better meet
our needs. The Edmonton LETS Barter Community is the tool
which collectively pools the goods and services that people have to offer, need
and want.
We are a self-help network of individuals who wish to offer
and receive goods and/or services for exchange between local people.

Anyone who wakes up in the morning has something to offer to others. From
artwork to yard work, if you have a little time, you can earn spending power.
First, decide what you have to offer and what you would like to request –
then complete and send in your registration. All offers and requests are
published in the Barter Bulletin in the form of classified ad listings. The
Barter Bulletin is available from the Beverly Towne Community Development office
and our bi-monthly Trade Potlucks. New members also receive $100 in Barter
Credit (see definitions) to get you started.
Once you have placed your listing, you are ready to Barter. Take a look in
the latest issue of the LETS Edmonton Barter Bulletin and find something to
trade your Barter on. If there is nothing you need in the current issue, then
you might consider placing a free request listing of something you are looking
for. And when you know someone with whom you’d like to trade, try suggesting
they sign up – they can then also begin reserving their cash by trading, too!
And in the meantime, the Barter Administrator will be working at bringing new
Barter members into the system to fulfill current barter requests.
IMPORTANT: When you earn Barter Credit - Use It. Don't let it sit
dormant. The purpose of creating this system is to keep the Barter system moving
from hand to hand.
